Kung Fu Kaden

Chuc Mung Nam Moi! Happy Lunar New Year!!!! We didn't get to be a part of any festivities this year since we were at our big youth conference that weekend... but we did have to snap some pics of Kaden in his Au Dai. He only put it on because we said it was a tae kwon do outfit! :) Thanks uncle John for getting Kaden an authentic au dai from Vietnam. :)

Big Big Bed

The toddler bed didn't last very long...so, if anyone is interested in purchasing a pretty much brand new cute toddler bed...give us a call. :) We tried to figure out what we could do to get Kaden to sleep in his room. We figured out that he loves the room to roll around, so we took the futon mattress in the spare room and threw it on the floor...the first night he slept almost all night and tried to crawl into bed with us. He sleeps pretty well in there now. Still wakes here and there and tries to come into our room. Or we go lay down with him. But at least he's not taking up our entire bed and all three of us being restless. His milk consumption at night is dwindling too. He's becoming such a big boy with lots of words and phrases. Always asking questions. It's really fun at this age. He's really into trains and cars and making things crash! He's such a boy!!!! :)

Singing and Dancing Freestyle!

I love when Kaden breaks out in song and dance. During Christmas break in Seattle, I was getting Kaden ready for the day and he found the mirror. He started to tap his feet and do little turns, and then it turned into a half an hour of him dancing and singing to his own beat!!! It was the funniest things. Just when we thought he was done... it went on and on... here's just a snip bit of it... it gets funnier and funnier. But I could also be a little biased, cause he's my boy.

Children's Museum

Kaden has been soaking up new information/vocabulary like a sponge. We have heard how cool the Children's Museum in Portland is and wanted to take him there. It's a little spendy... but our trusty housemate, who loves a good bargain, found out that the first friday of the month the Children's Museum is FREE!!! The first Tuesday of the month the zoo is only $2... and I thought that was a good deal!!! :) So, after work, Joel and Amanda picked me up from work and Zach took the MAX there... we spent a good two hours exploring new sights and sounds... we played in the Clifford, the dog, exhibit...
went grocery shopping... played in an ambulance... worked on some construction... sculpted some clay... made some music... played with some trains... and hung out with Dadda, Momma, Auntie Amanda, and Uncle Zach. It was a great evening had by all... no melt downs, no fighting with other kids, no whining or anything-Just lots of fun! We would take him back... not sure we would pay full price, but he loved it and he learned new fun things that night!
