Baby Dedication

We had Kaden dedicated last week at church. If you're not familiar with baby dedications, what it means is that the baby's parents and the church community pray for the baby, and commit themselves to caring for and nurturing the baby in a Christian environment. 

This was a special day for us, because so many of our friends and family came to church and to the BBQ afterwards. We always thank God for the community we are in. We feel so cared for and when we think about the amazing people who are helping us raise Kaden we are moved beyond words.

Hotel AT and Chi Thu!

Last night after going home from Annette's and Nappy's house we got to our cute little house and the minute we walked in the door Kaden started to cry again... our house was a little oven. It was so warm! So, what did we do... we packed our bags and headed to Hotel AT and Chi Thu's (Joel's sister and bro in law). Ah... that was the best decision EVER! We slept so well...and Kaden was in AC heaven! :-) We are spending all day today here... while some friends are spending the day in our back yard in our pool. It's way toooooo hot outside to even walk to the mailbox. WOW!!! Global warming! Anyways, good thing this weather isn't every day! We would have to invest in some AC. Hope you all stocked up on sun-block and stay hydrated.  

WE ARE MELTING!!!!

It's is HOT here in Portland...and we are MELTING! We had to find refuge at Annette and Nappy's house. Thank GOD for AC! Kaden was screaming this morning because it was so hot and he couldn't fall asleep. I haven't heard him scream like that since he was circumcised. We aren't sure how we are going to make it through the summer if the weather is going to be this hot and we don't have AC and the basement is still under construction. I am sure we will spend much time walking the mall or at Annette's or Chi Thu's house. Hahaha. Kaden sure looks cute in just a onesie or his diaper. Enjoy the sun friends...

Lisa celebrated her first Mothers Day!!!

It's been just over a month since Kaden joined us

and Lisa already looks like a pro.

She is such a fun mommy. She talks and sings to Kaden all day long.

It's exciting to see Kaden grow up and to see mommy loving the Boyz.

ONE MONTH

Kaden is one month old today... my how time flies. We celebrated by taking a trip to the farmer's market this morning and then shopping on Mississippi Street. Then we headed to cousin Gabby's volleyball game. Kaden loves hanging out and exploring Portland. He has been more alert and exploring his surroundings more. It has been pure joy just in this last month. Time sure goes by way too quickly. Lisa is returning to work on Monday. Joel will be watching Kaden. Please pray for us and this transition time. Kaden is getting dedicated at Mosaic on May 18th. We would love for you to join us at church for this special occasion and then have lunch at our place afterwards. Hope you can all make it!

Growing So-o FAST!!!

Our little guy is growing up so fast...it's only been a little over three weeks and he looks so different daily. He's exploring his surroundings more and more...it's fun to watch him stare at himself in a mirror. Lisa goes back to work on May 12th. Joel will be watching Kaden except for some days he's in classes and substitute teaching Kaden will be with different family or friends. We will be making our first road trip to Seattle the weekend of May 30th for a "one month party". Parenthood is an amazing experience...we can't wait to continue to learn and grow along with Kaden. :-)

HAPPY THREE WEEKS!

Wow...we can't believe Kaden is three weeks old! He already looks really different. His cheeks have filled out... he's getting some rolls on his legs...and tummy is bulging out. He's a little oinker... eating about every three hours. He's also becoming more alert during some parts of the day. He also got his first bath the other day... he screamed through the whole thing. It was so cute! :) Every day is something new...it's awesome being parents. Our friend Bryan and Jen had their baby a few days after Kaden was born...Joel's parents got to stop by again to see Kaden... here's a picture of the three generations.
